In our ‘Western’ culture, there are many things which we do thinking that they are ‘good’ and godly, after all “cleanliness is next to godliness” (find that in the bible?).
When ‘christianity’ divested itself from the Judaism of Yahushua certain traditions bled into the accepted religious observance that eventually became Roman Catholic Christianity. The Roman pagan influence was very strong and the Hebrew influence became despised.
Perhaps the first consequence was that Chrisianity became pantheistic, much like the prevailing culture of Rome, not only did Yah become ‘three in one’ but ‘saints’ were elevated to their own godship, statues were acquired or bilt and ‘church’ buildings designated for Sunday worship. There are no church buildings in the scriptures, there is the Tample and there are reading/meeting’ rooms that held the scrolls which were available to be read by any who so desired.
The Tanack (OT) had already been translated into Greek, but it was further translated into Latin but it was expensive to write, translate and copy and these writings were only available to the educated and well heeled.
This gave rise to a religion where an elite ruled over and dictated doctrine (and dogma) to an ignorant (agnostic) congregation who gathered on Sunday mornings in temples which were formerly pagan but with a priesthood who had no interest in the Hebrew truth and invented their own religious truths. The ‘church fathers’ twisted the Gospel into unrecognisable form; it came to be that Jesus died on the cross for our sins’ instead of that Yahushua, Torah made flesh and dwelling amongst us, was murdered by religious and military authorities, but overcame (Adam’s) death to create a Way back to Yah’s life.
Man must live by every Word (the Torah) which comes from the mouth of Yah, not from the mouths of Popes and Priests, Pastors and Elders (Bishops).
We start keeping and guarding Torah by first obeying His 10 Commandments; ubstructions for life etched by Yah’s own finger on tablets of stone. The ‘church’ modified every one of those commandments, and because it fails to keep the sabbath set apart (seventh day = Saturday) it cannot leave the prodigals ‘pigsty’. We keep Sabbath because Yah brought us out of Slavery and out of Egypt, if we keep some other day (like Sunday) the magic does not work because we are throwing the Roman gods in Yah’s face.
Christians believe that they are ‘saved’ simply because they believe in Jesus, and that they therefore live in ’grace’. But each of us is responsible for his/her own salvation and it is up to each of you to ensure that the various religious authorities are telling you the TRUTH!
